The survey is now closed.  It remains accessible for people interested in the approach used.

This survey is seeking baseline data, and examples of best practice, related to the environmental and social impacts of information and communications technology (ICT) within further and higher education. It will also help in the development of sector networks around the topic. The survey will run until 26 April 2008.

There are separate sections on research and teaching, ICT management and support, procurement, remote working and other topics, so it is aimed at a variety of staff. (Please forward the URL to others who have, or should have, an interest). You'll only answer detailed questions on the topics relevant to you, so most people will need only 5-10 minutes. (NB The 'live' progress gauge is based on the maximum number of questions, and so becomes more accurate as you proceed).

The survey is part of the JISC-funded SusteIT (Sustainable IT in Tertiary Education) project. This is managed by the Higher Education Environmental Performance Improvement (HEEPI) initiative, based at the University of Bradford, and SustainIT, an independent charity.

You can go through anonymously, but we hope that you will be willing to provide the name of your institution at the end of the survey. This will help us to quantify the percentage doing particular things. We will not refer to any specific organisation in the survey analysis. All answers will also be treated as confidential, and any personal details provided will be deleted within three months.

Please contact susteitsurvey@heepi.org.uk if you have any queries.
